Things to see and do in Sofia

The kick-off meeting for one of the European projects that I’m involved with is going to be in Sofia next month (23rd-24th March, for ‘s benefit). and I are planning to stretch my visit into a short break for both of us, since we haven’t had a proper holiday for a while. Being a very well-travelled bunch of people, I’m sure that some of you have been to Bulgaria before, and being an opinionated bunch, I’m sure you’ll have suggestions too. What should be on our must-see list, and what should we steer well clear of?

Best. Party. Ever.

I’m chairing our weekly project meeting in a few minutes time, and wondering if the headache and sore eyes are the start of a hangover that’s so far been blissfully absent.

At home with the Garks

For those that are looking for an excuse to escape from their families between Christmas and the New Year, we’re offering a retreat from family politics. and I are having an open house on Thursday 29th 2005 (our address is in this friends-locked post). Any or all of the following may be involved: Eating Drinking Making merry Playing silly board games Talking nonsense (it’s also our wedding anniversary, but that’s mainly coincidental)

New community:

As around half of my friends list are aware, LJ has the women-only community, based on the old Mono group of the same name. In an attempt to correct what could be perceived as a regrettable gender imbalance, and to provide a virtual space which allows men to ignore each other in an atmosphere of mild embarrassment, I’d like to announce the creation of a new community: . That is all. (and now I need to go and prepare for a viva)
