Meme seen on and ‘s journals, who seem to have got it from Gordon Brown. My school had Incipe (“Begin!”). My first university had Mens Agitat Molem (“Mind Moves Matter”, roughly). I’ve no idea what Edinburgh’s motto is, but Southampton’s appears to be Strenuis Ardua Cedunt (“The heights yield to endeavour”).

Well, today has been exciting, and not in a good way. Since the turned six months old last week (and if truth be told, for a couple of weeks before that) we’ve been introducing him to solid foods. We’re going down the baby-led weaning route, mainly because it seems to be more fun for him. So far he’s eaten: carrots, broccoli, parsnips (roast and boiled), potatoes (roast and boiled), spinach, asparagus, green beans, avocado, pear, nectarine, banana, strawberries, chicken and haddock. Which side are you on?

Only thirteen years after Lindsay Anderson’s death, If…. has finally been released on DVD. Perhaps they’ll also release O Lucky Man!? We can but hope.
