So far, I’ve refrained from posting about the Great Slashthrough (or whatever it was called). The calls for fandom[*] to up sticks and move to an LJ-a-like are, quite frankly, daft[**]. The DVD release of If…. that I pre-ordered from Amazon turned up yesterday, and I have to say that it is even better than I thought it would be. I’ve not yet listened to the commentary by McDowell, but the rest of the extras were worth the price by themselves: Anderson’s 1954 Oscar-winning documentary Thursday’s Children, an interview with Graham Crowden, and the BBC4 Cast and Crew programme chaired by Kirsty Wark and featuring Stephen Frears, David Sherwin, Michael Medwin and Miroslav Ondricek.

This is both the coolest Web-related thing I’ve seen this month, and a nasty hack that makes me feel ill. Of course, I’ll probably now try and use it in anger…
Saturday: lazy morning playing with the , culminating in him falling asleep on me while was out shopping. Attacked the few bits of bindweed that have appeared since last month and mowed the lawn. Failed to apply anti-slug nematodes, partly because soil wasn’t damp enough. Fabulous dinner of a duck, fig and walnut salad (me) and an excellent summer pudding ().
Despite my worst fears, the remainder of the trip was largely without incident (even Friday 13th), and I happily spent two days eating mostly the tasty organs of cute yet probably maltreated animals.
