Ever get the feeling that you shouldn’t get out of bed? I’ve been having bad feelings about this trip for the last couple of weeks, and so far almost all of my misgivings have come to pass. I left the office at 1630, and I got into my hotel room just before 2300 GMT (my office is a fifteen minute bus ride from the airport, to put this into some perspective). My flight was cancelled. I’ve just spent the last hour stripping and cleaning my (well, effectively ‘s) Thinkpad after the managed to surreptitiously vomit into the keyboard and then give the keys a good hammering to work the gunge in well. Thanks to Lenovo’s support pages (which presumably they inherited from IBM), I was able to easily find the right manuals with instructions for taking apart an R51. The keyboard now only smells faintly of baby puke, and I suspect that will fade as the keyboard dries out fully. Mostly for my own benefit… Not a great journey home. Someone had knocked a cat down on a busy road on our way home, and hadn’t bothered stopping. Noone else was stopping, and the pedestrians on the pavement seemed a bit unsure about picking up the beast as it writhed around in the middle of the road, so pulled over (for she was driving) and I went to see what I could do.
